NEW! Ponder (TM) the Call Light Game

The Call Light Game pairs with the original Ponder (TM) the Socratic Way to simulate nursing on the floor.  Students are assigned a mannequin. Students create their patients using the Ponder demographic cards and dice. This information is applied to the mannequins. Students access the simple EHR that is provided (very basic–includes orders, MAR, labs/radiology, a place to record vital signs, and a place for free text for nurses’ notes). There are four charts to choose from. Alternatively, the game comes with a free six-month trial of ChartFlow, an advanced EHR.  As students are caring for their mannequins, the instructor draws a student’s name from a hat, calls on the student, and draws a Call Light Card. The card can be anything from the patient calling out for a bedpan, the provider ordering a stat IV, the patient can’t breathe and everything in between!
